Camps

The first half of camp days consist of horse related activities. After lunch, activities are more farm related. You don’t have to have horse or farm experience to participate in the fun, we will teach you! Each day of camp everyone will get to participate in horseback riding and basic horse care activities. Each day after lunch, we have a different activity on the farm to learn about. There will be different fun activities to fill in gaps between our main events. Some of these activities’ campers will make/ create things that they can take home at the end of camp.  At the end of each week we have an open house where parents can accompany their child(ren) to see what they learned/ created throughout the week!

Monday

Monday morning once everyone arrives, we will do introductions. From here campers will learn how to be around horses safely! Safety for all campers and animals is our number one goal! Campers will gain knowledge about what goes into caring for a horse and meeting their basic needs. Campers will then be divided into two groups. One group will go learn how to groom and tack up a horse while, the other group is taking their turn riding. After everyone has had their turn, we will come back together as a group to preform post riding care to the horses. With lunch time approaching, campers will gather their lunch and spread out to relax! After lunch, we will spend time going over what goes into making a farm function. We will cover how to safely be around different farm animals and any other dangers you could possibly encounter on a farm.  Campers will be introduced to all the animals present on the farm and what purpose they serve. As we wind down from all the fun activities for the day, campers will make their way back towards the front of the farm to wait for their parents!

Tuesday

Tuesday morning will hold the same basic structure as Monday morning. After lunch, our farm topic of the day is the sheep. Campers will take a closer look into what a sheep needs to survive. They will get an up-close look at the sheep and the opportunity to hand feed some. Once campers finish learning about sheep. We will fill the rest of our afternoon with farm related activities and fun!

Wednesday

Wednesday morning will hold the same basic structure as previous mornings! After lunch, our farm topic of the day is cattle. Campers will learn what it takes to raise cattle and how to do so safely. We will not get as close to the cows as we do the sheep due to safety concerns, but it will still be filled full of fun!

Thursday

Thursday morning will hold the same basic structure as previous mornings. As the last day is here, we will spend some time perfecting our skills to showcase at the open house! After lunch, we will learn about growing a garden and flowers. We will discuss the necessities needed for plants to grow. How we spend the last part of the day is up to the campers! If they enjoyed a certain activity and want to do it again we will try to repeat it!

Friday

Friday is not an official day of camp but an open house night. This time is for the kids to show their parents what they learned and created this week at camp! There will be horses tacked up and ready for each child demonstrate a skill they learned at camp.  This is the perfect time for you to gather all belongs left at camp throughout the week!

*You can come anytime in the designated time slot (4-8pm). Each child who participated in camp can have 1 ride to show off a skill worked on during the week*
